HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECOVER?

Eyebrow procedures have the least swelling. With eyeliner, expect swelling for 2 hours. Lip color often involves the most swelling. You must let your micro-pigmentation professional know if you have a history of fever blisters so medication can be taken before your treatment.

HOW LONG WILL MY MAKEUP LAST?

Micro-pigmentation lasts a long time, but not forever. As you become accustomed to your new makeup, wanting more is not uncommon. You will want to freshen up your new makeup every couple of years. The darker the color, the longer it will stay unchanged in your skin. Natural, delicate colors are oftentimes more vulnerable to the effects of the sun, swimming, and breakdown by the body's natural response.

I AM AFRAID OF PAIN...DO THE PROCEDURES HURT?

Topical anesthetics have been developed especially for permanent makeup procedures. These creams and gels are applied to the desired area before and during the procedure to assure you of the most comfortable experience possible. Most people describe the sensation as a "tickle. However, some people still experience discomfort, especially with lip color procedures. How much pain? On a scale of 1-10, you will usually be somewhere between 0-2. Rarely is anything stronger than a Tylenol necessary for the discomfort, and you won't have to miss work or take time off to recover.

Interview the technician being considered. Look at their portfolio. Is the facility clean and neat? Do they show you singly packaged equipment with sterile markings on the bags? Do they have certificates of continuing education? All of these items are necessary for success in permanent makeup.



Be sure that your technician informs you that permanent makeup procedures are a process and that you will need a second (and sometimes a third) layer of color implanted.
